Course Description:  
Telehealth is rapidly growing, through the impeding method of delivering care to individuals who might not otherwise have access. Before the Coronavirus pandemic, it was estimated that care delivered through telehealth would grow at a rate of 16% annually.  Now the anticipated growth is expected to reach 80% . The rapid growth of this method of care requires provider training As more professionals embrace telehealth as a health care delivery system, nursing can play an even greater role in integrating telehealth education into the health professions and curricula. This certificate program is designed to educate healthcare professionals on the fundamental concepts of telehealth and telemedicine. This introductory course will assist healthcare professionals to effectively deliver telehealth services through the implementations of best practices. The course will begin with an introduction to telehealth and transitions into best practices, including legal, and ethical issues. No prerequisites. Instructional material will be provided.  This 5-hour course is delivered over two weeks via video conference.

Course outcomes:
- Demonstrate effective communication (including nonverbal) with patients in a virtual space Learners will determine/discuss the needs and requirements for delivering telehealth services.
- Have the knowledge and skills to establish and deliver a telehealth program.
- Learners will effectively perform telehealth visits.
- Learners will evaluate the success of a telehealth delivery system.
- Create an action plan for troubleshooting and overcoming technical challenges.
- Identify how to modify your medical decision-making process in the virtual space.

Medical professionals who are working in the field where their practices have decided to implement telehealth for the delivery of healthcare.

Office hours: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Wednesdays & Fridays: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. as well as on Saturdays: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. when classes are starting.

Summer Hours: Please note that during July and August, the office is closed on Fridays, most evenings (at 5 p.m.) and most Saturdays
