CERCOM is a 2,500-square-foot marine laboratory located at the West Sayville Boat Basin. This unique field station supports undergraduate research and provides opportunities for any science majors who may be interested in internships.

In addition to research, all Earth and Environmental Science majors complete at least one semester of an off-campus internship that makes the abstract theories and learned examples concrete by placing you in a real-life work situation. Students can explore internships with numerous organizations like the Wildlife Conservation Society, the New York Aquarium, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, the American Museum of Natural History, the Long Island Maritime Museum and more.
