Computer Science Programs
This program is designed to prepare candidates for New York State certification in Computer Science Education Pre-K-12 to become effective teachers of Computer Science. Computer science courses in schools provide students with the opportunity to learn how computers work and how we can use computers to solve problems in our society. Learning computer science concepts and practices develops computational skills, logic, problem-solving, and creativity. The foundational knowledge in these courses is critical to preparing each child for success in college, career, and citizenship for the 21st century.
The program satisfies the requirements for eligibility to apply for initial certification to teach Computer Science, PreK-12.
