Student Success and Assessment
Student Success
Molloy believes that every student has the capacity to learn and transform through their lifelong search for truth.
Student Success is a holistic pathway that guides Molloy students’ transformative educational experiences and psychosocial support to achieve their academic, career and personal goals. It involves an intentional partnership and shared responsibility between students and all areas of the Molloy community. Student success is the footprint for how Molloy uses responsive practices to empower, engage, support, and challenge our students. It includes the innermost pieces of the educational experience that enables a student to excel with readiness academically, personally, financially, emotionally and professionally.
Molloy measures student success quantitatively using retention and graduation rates, student research, and student engagement; and qualitatively using co/extra-curricular involvement, and non-cognitive factors (student persistence, well-being, mental health, comfort, sense of belonging, and civic engagement).
SSA is the point of contact for faculty and staff who identify students needing additional support to reach their full academic potential or with academic performance issues. SSA achieves a positive impact on retention from early and individualized interventions.
Academic Assessment
SSA oversees Molloy’s institutional 4-year academic assessment cycle that follows the National Institute of Learning Outcome Assessment Transparency Framework (NILOA). SSA provides guidance and coordination of integrated student learning outcomes of program assessments. Molloy’s academic programs maintain assessable and measurable program learning outcomes (PLOs) that are mapped to course-level learning outcomes and include direct and indirect measures.
