Stephanie Blackwell BSW Student of the Year
Stephanie Blackwell is a BSW student and President of the Social Work Student Association for the 2022-2023 academic year at Molloy University. Currently, Stephanie is a Quality Assurance Specialist at Queens Center for Progress and has over two decades working in the field of Human Services, supporting and advocating for adults with developmental disabilities in various leadership roles at DDI, YAI, and Athelas Institute in Maryland. A natural leader, Stephanie serves on various committees including Co-Chair of InterAgency Council (IAC) Trainer's Directors Committee, NYS Intellectual Developmental & Disability/Domestic Violence(IDD/DV) Cross Collaboration Advisory Council, and NASW Student Leadership Council. Stephanie is dedicated to her studies and committed to becoming a social worker in which she has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa as well as, Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social Workers. With a deep passion for social justice, Stephanie is committed to improving and enhancing the lives of everyone she meets. She is an eager learner, looking to improve her social work skills in any way she can. She has attended UConn's Campaign School where she developed a deep interest in political social work. She has also taken her skills abroad to Belgium in March 2022, where she studied social service programs and engaged with European students to learn about various social policies that impact vulnerable populations. Most recently, Stephanie has joined the Molloy Community Care Mobile Clinic supporting those in the community access services. After earning her BSW, Stephanie plans on completing her Master's Degree in Social Work at Fordham University, with the ultimate goal of making a difference and supporting those find their voice and heal through the trauma they have experienced through their life.
