WANTAGH, NY — It's a homecoming for Thomas Burke, who returns to the Wantagh School District.
The former Mandalay Elementary School teacher has been appointed principal of Forest Lake Elementary School.
After five years at Mandalay, Burke spent six years teaching sixth graders at Wantagh Middle School.
"I’m excited about returning home where I started as a teacher and reconnecting with staff and the families," he said.
Burke also worked for the last nine years in the Seaford School District, including the past seven years as principal of Harbor Elementary School.
He officially begins his new post on July 1.
Burke holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Molloy University and a master’s degree in secondary education and English from St. John’s University.
