Molloy University Announces New Board Members
Rockville Centre, NY – Molloy University announced today that it has added two new members to its Board of Trustees, Wayne H. Lipton and Corey J. Muirhead.
Wayne Lipton, an entrepreneur, businessman and musician, graduated from Harvard University. He is the CEO and Managing Partner of Concierge Choice Physicians LLC, a company that he founded in 2005. Concierge Choice Physicians LLC services physicians nationally (twenty-four states) in marketing and administering concierge programs. Its main office is in Rockville Centre. He is also President of the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts and President of the South Shore Symphony.
Corey Muirhead is the Executive Vice President of Logan Bus Company, the largest school transportation provider in the City of New York, amassing over 4,000 employees and 2,500 routes. Muirhead is responsible for negotiating the largest municipal-private contractor transportation extension agreement with the New York City Department of Education. Muirhead is also credited with putting the first electric school bus on the NYC streets and attributed for being the first school bus company to run a stop-arm camera pilot program in New York State.

About Wayne H. Lipton

Wayne grew up in Valley Stream and Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin Senior High School. He graduated from Harvard College in 1973 and has his BA in Biochemistry. For many years he was the owner of Richmind Way Stores, a chain of Drug Stores with its largest store in Rockville Centre.
Wayne has served on both the Boards of Central Synagogue and Temple B’nai Sholom. He was a founding Trustee of the Rockville Centre Education Foundation and a Gala Honoree.
In addition, Wayne served as a Trustee and Deputy Mayor of the Village of Rockville Centre (elected in 1999 and 2003) with Mayor Eugene J. Murray until they both retired from the Board in 2007. From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the RVC Planning Board and served as its chairman for eight of those years. He has served as a Board Member of Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital for ten years and recently, he has joined the Board of Trustees at Molloy University.
Rockville Centre knows Wayne as a fine cellist who is President of the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts and President of the South Shore Symphony. Since 1993 at the Centennial of the Village, the orchestra has performed annually in July with Grucci Fireworks on the fields at Centennial Park. Wayne has co-produced the Nutcracker Ballet with the orchestra, Leggz Ltd Ballet and professional guest star dancers. The orchestra also performs at the Madison Theatre at Molloy University over seven times a year and annually in collaboration with Michael Bower and the voices of St. Agnes Cathedral each June. Wayne brought the orchestra to Rockville Centre in 1991 and continues as its principal cellist.
Wayne has been married to Karen, a retired Nassau County Asst District Attorney, for 46 years. They have two children, Sarah and Alex. Their eldest son, Adam passed away in 2020. Wayne and Karen have resided in Rockville Centre for 43 years.
About Corey J. Muirhead
Muirhead is the Executive Vice President of Guardian Bus Co. Inc., a part of the Logan Bus group of companies; the largest privately owned school transportation company in New York State. Muirhead is credited with putting the first electric school bus in service in NYC as well as being the first school bus company to run a stop-arm camera pilot program in Nassau County, Long Island.
Muirhead is perhaps best known on Long Island as the “school bus guy” for the tireless work he did on behalf of the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Muirhead was a member of the New York State Education Department- Board of Regents Reopening Schools Task Force, appearing in many articles and interviews, as well as being a panelist on several Newsday LIVE webinars. Muirhead brought light to a relatively unknown industry while at the same time providing reassurances to parents and school officials alike on proper COVID-19 protocols and the importance of school bus contractors in the education process. Muirhead was awarded the 2020 Roger Weeks Contractor of The Year Award, the highest award in the New York State School bus industry, for his work as president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association from 2019-2021 on behalf of the industry during the COVID pandemic.
Muirhead has achieved an impressive list of personal accomplishments, including being named to the 2022 Long Island Business News “40 Under 40”, 2021 City & State Magazine Transportation Power 100 List, 2020 City & State Magazine's "40 Under 40 Rising Stars" in NYC Politics and a 2019 Long Island Business News "30 Under 30" award for bright and dynamic young professionals ages 30 or under, who contribute to the Long Island community through public service and who have made significant strides in business.
Most recently, Muirhead was selected to the New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) Electric School Bus Advisory Group as well as the New York League of Conservation Voters NYS Board.
Muirhead is also a Class of 2021 Molloy University Energeia Partnership partner, a Trustee on the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1181 Pension and Welfare Funds and a director on the National School Transportation Association Board .
Muirhead grew up in Long Beach and graduated from Kellenberg Memorial High School and then Marist College where he earned his BA in Business. He now calls Rockville Centre home with his wife, Cassandra and son, Clark.
