Molloy University Announces New Board Members
Rockville Centre, NY – Molloy University announced today that it has added two new members to its Board of Trustees, Lanier Mason and Kristy Uvena, both graduates of Molloy.
Lanier Mason is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in the State of New York. Currently, he is an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young, L.L.P. (EY) - primarily serving Wealth and Asset Management clients.
Kristy Uvena is the Vice President of Consumer and Business Growth Marketing for Altice USA. In her role, she is responsible for leading the new customer acquisition, customer animation, and segment marketing teams targeting residences, small, medium, and enterprise businesses for the Optimum suite of products, including Internet and Mobile.
“We are pleased to welcome Lanier Mason and Kristy Uvena to our Board,” said James Lentini, Molloy’s President. “Lanier’s financial experience with EY and Kristy’s background in marketing and education with Cablevision, Lightpath and Altice align nicely with Molloy’s programs and mission. Additionally, both are graduates of Molloy, which will make their insights that much more valuable for our Board.”
About Lanier Mason
As a Manager at EY, Lanier has directed the execution of audit fieldwork for multi-strategy hedge funds. In addition to his core audit responsibilities, he develops custom technology as a part of EY’s global efforts to stay on the cutting-edge of trends in data analytics.
In 2020, he launched a scholarship at Molloy University for Black students in honor of his late grandmother, Leona C. Mason. As a result of his efforts, he was recognized by Molloy as a recipient of the Alumni Service Award and the inaugural 30 Under 30 Young Alumni Award.
In 2021, the 100th anniversary of the first Black CPA, he was recognized as one of the nation’s top 40 Black CPAs in the United States and the only professional at EY to be featured on the list.
Lanier earned a B.S. in Accounting from Molloy in 2015 (Magna Cum Laude) and currently resides in Queens, NY.
About Kristy Uvena
Kristy Uvena has almost two decades of industry experience and began her career with Cablevision in 2004, working with public institutions such as schools and libraries on finding the right products and services for their telecommunications needs. She also served as a Director of Marketing at Lightpath, and has been with Altice USA since 2016 when the company acquired Cablevision.
Kristy graduated with a B.A. from Molloy in 2003 (Cum Laude) and currently lives on Long Island with her husband and two sons.
