McNeill Appointed VP, CFO, and Treasurer

Brian is a mission-driven financial executive and CFO with over 30 years of experience leading financial transformation, strategic planning, and operational excellence in complex organizations. Most recently serving as Divisional CFO at National Grid, Brian managed financial performance across multiple U.S. businesses serving over 7 million customers, overseeing a $14B electric business, and serving on the Board of Directors of several operating companies. His leadership helped drive measurable improvements in financial performance, stakeholder alignment, and long-term growth and value creation.
A natural fit for Molloy University’s values-based mission, Brian brings a unique blend of financial acumen, strategic foresight, and ethical leadership. His expertise includes building high-performing, inclusive teams; driving data-informed decision-making; overseeing capital investments; and supporting institutions through strategic transition and growth. He has consistently delivered results by aligning resources with long-term institutional goals while maintaining transparency and collaboration across stakeholders.
Brian’s journey is deeply rooted in Catholic education and values, benefitting from 20 years of formation through institutions including St. Anselm’s, Xaverian High School, and Fordham University, where he earned both a BS in Finance and an MBA in International Business. These formative experiences instilled a lifelong commitment to ethical leadership, community engagement, and education as a transformative force. He remains an active mentor and advocate for students, particularly first-generation learners, through his involvement with Fordham University, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Xaverian High School, and Junior Achievement.
Inspired by Molloy’s Dominican pillars of study, service, spirituality, and community, Brian is eager to leverage his experience to help guide the university through a pivotal chapter—supporting execution of its strategic plan, advancing digital transformation, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability while preserving its core mission.
When not working, Brian lives in Garden City with his family, and loves to spend time on the ice coaching youth ice hockey, golfing, fishing, and supporting charitable causes.
The Molloy community would like to thank Steve Hietsch, who served admirably as the Interim CFO this year.
