Exhibit, and More, Designed to Celebrate Black History Month
Molloy kicked off Black History Month with an artists' reception for a new exhibit titled "Our Creative Journey". The exhibit sparked meaningful conversations between our students and the artists, emphasizing the rich diversity of artistic styles and the dedication to their craft.
The impactful exhibition features work by 16 talented members of the Long Island Black Artists Association. The association assists its African American members in finding a conduit for the exhibition of their work. The exhibit will be on display in the Kellenberg Art Gallery until March 31st.

The African American Caribbean Organization and the English Department celebrated Black History Month. In recognition of James Baldwin's 100th birthday and the 100th anniversary of The Harlem Renaissance, the readings focused on excerpts from Baldwin's The Fire Next Time.
Celebrating Black History: Honoring Achievements, Embracing Diversity
Sponsored by the Black Equity Alliance Affinity Group, the program included trivia, the history of stepping, a keynote address by Dr. Donald ‘DJ’ Mitchell, Vice President for Mission Integration and Inclusion, reflections, and networking.
"Black Lives Matter": Reflections from Children's Picture Books
This presentation showed how racism has been represented in recently published books for children. These books are written to support and guide children's understanding of racism.
