Military & Veterans Student Lounge

A new addition to the services Molloy offers to veterans, we are proud to announce the opening of our brand-new Student Lounge in Public Square Room 375. Exclusively designed for our military and veteran students, this space is dedicated to providing a comfortable and supportive environment for those who have served. We hope this new lounge becomes a valuable space for connection, learning, and relaxation.

 
Transfer Credits
  • Transfer credits are granted to military servicemen or Veterans who have completed various certifications and training programs
  • Physical education credit granted for completion of basic training
  • Transfer credits awarded for courses completed at other colleges and universities
  • Credits can be earned through college level examinations such as CLEP and DSST with the recommended American Council on Education (ACE) scores
  • Credits documented on the SMARTS and AARTS transcripts and are evaluated on an individual basis
 
Financing for Veterans

Active, reserve and veterans of the military who are eligible for VA program benefits may be eligible for other sources of student financial aid. Federal and state sources may include:

  • Federal Pell Grant
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
  • Federal Work-Study Program (FWS)
  • New York State Tuition Assistance Program Grant (TAP)
  • New York State Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS)
  • Molloy University Scholarships and grants.
  • NYS Veteran’s Award

Veteran's Enrollment Certification
  • Students expecting to receive veteran’s benefits must be certified by the Office of the Registrar
  • VA Certification of Eligibility must be submitted
  • Contact the Registrar’s Office Veteran’s Enrollment Certifying Officer about veteran status and/or active or reserves status
  • Notify the Registrar’s Veteran’s Coordinator about your plans to use GI Bill® benefits

Academic Policies for Veterans

The college does not penalize military students for early withdrawal if a reservist or active duty enlisted service member is called to active duty, taking them away from campus. The student may withdraw from courses without academic penalties.
