What Will You Learn?
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) program at Molloy University offers a flexible distance learning format, consisting of 8 courses that can be completed over seven consecutive semesters. The curriculum focuses on several aspects of nursing:
- Core Study: Begin your journey with three foundational courses that immerse you in transformational leadership, reflective advocacy, and evidence-based research strategies, setting the stage for your continued growth.
- Practical Study: Deepen your expertise through three advanced practice core courses covering pathophysiology, pharmacology, and physical assessment. These courses, paired with practicums, ensure you gain the hands-on knowledge to manage and diagnose complex health conditions, maintaining safe and effective treatment for geriatric patients.
- Clinical Experience: Progress through four specialized Clinical Nurse Specialist courses, where you’ll develop your role as a CNS and complete the 500 clinical hours required for national certification. All practicums must be completed in person within New York State.
