MS in SLP Admissions Criteria

Applicants into Molloy's Master of Science Program in Speech-Language Pathology must apply using CSDCAS

The requirements for admission to the program are:

  • 3 letters of reference (professors preferred)
  • A professional goals statement
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • A personal interview
  • Prerequisite coursework

Prerequisite Coursework Includes:

  • 3 credits in biological sciences
  • 3 credits in physics/ chemistry
  • 3 credits in statistics
  • 6 credits in behavioral and/or social sciences
  • 12 credits in basic communication processes, including at least one course in each of the following: anatomy and physiology of speech, hearing science/acoustics, language development, phonetics
  • 6 credits of introductory courses in Speech-Language Pathology (These courses generally have a content focus in developmental and acquired communication disorders.)
  • 3 credits of introductory courses in audiology.

It is possible that a student may be considered for acceptance to the program and yet be deficient in the basic coursework. In that case, a student is expected to complete any deficiencies prior to or concurrently with their graduate courses and will be accepted provisionally. A student accepted provisionally is expected to meet with the program director upon acceptance into the program in order to discuss the prompt completion of these requirements.

Students must complete a minimum of 56 hours of graduate coursework to be eligible for a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

The Molloy University MS SLP program is no longer requiring the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) as a requirement for admission.
