Childhood Education Graduate Programs (Grades 1-6)
The master's degree in Childhood Education provides expertise in the development of elementary-grade children. We offer programs for potential students who would like to pursue a master’s degree and Initial New York State Certification or Professional NYS Certification.
The Initial Certificate is the entry-level New York State teaching certificate issued to anyone who completes a NYS teacher preparation program, like our program, or equivalent coursework and experience. The Initial Certificate is valid for five years.
Professional Certificate is an advanced New York State certificate issued to teachers who already possess a master’s degree, have three years of teaching experience, and complete 175 hours of professional development every five years.

- Childhood Grades 1 - 6 & Early Childhood Grades Birth - Grade 2 - Dual Initial Certifications - M.S.
- Childhood Grades 1 - 6 & Teaching Students with Disabilities Grades PreK-12 - Dual Initial Certifications - M.S.
- Childhood Grades 1 - 6 & TESOL Grades PK - 12 - Dual Initial Certifications
