STEM Education Leadership Certificate

The STEM Education Leadership Certificate is designed for K-12 educators to deepen their understanding of STEM education and learn how to apply it in their schools, communities, disciplines, and beyond. This certificate is not limited to STEM teachers; it offers valuable insights for educators across all fields looking to incorporate STEM-based strategies into their teaching.

Participants will engage in inquiry-based learning, design-based thinking, and cross-disciplinary connections to create real-world STEM experiences. The certificate results in 9 graduate credits in STEM Pedagogy.

Course Information

The program consists of three courses, each earning 3 graduate credits, and is offered at a discounted rate of $945 per course. Courses are project-oriented and include lessons, hands-on assignments, and live, virtual sessions via Zoom

These courses are part of Molloy's graduate education program and can be used as electives toward a Master of Science degree in Education.

Plan of Study
Courses are offered during the summer and can be taken in any order. There are no prerequisites, but a Master’s degree is required to enroll.

Course Modality
Courses are asynchronous online and online mixed.  

Online asynchronous course content is delivered online with no required virtual or instructional site meetings.   The course has a start date and end date, but no set time you must log on to the course.  You must log on to Canvas on the first day of class and continue to do so on a regular basis to complete assignments and participate in discussions in the time allotted by the professor.

Online mixed course content is delivered online with scheduled virtual meetings combined with asynchronous learning activities.  Synchronous live meetings will be communicated in the syllabus.

 

Upon registration, students receive a Molloy email account and access to Canvas for assignments and course materials.

Once you have registered for your first course, you will be emailed a Molloy email account. Once you receive your Molloy email account, please follow the instructions in the email to set-up your permanent account. (If you do not receive the email within 3 business days of registering for your first course please check your spam folder or contact Krista Lombardo at klombardo@molloy.edu. You can log in at: www.molloy.edu/canvas using your permanent Username and Password. Once you log in to your Canvas account you can look up the any assignments that the instructor may have posted. It is strongly suggested that you become more familiar with using Canvas by reading the Canvas quickstart page at: https://resources.instructure.com/courses/32/pages/canvas-student-quickstart

Please note when searching for the term select "2025 Summer I Institute" (courses start before July 1) "Summer II Institute" (courses start after July 1) as the term drop down.  If you put in the term '2025 Summer" it will include the non-discounted courses that you are not eligible to take.

Registration Procedure
There are no traditional deadlines, and you can apply at any time. The registration process is simple, with no application fee or GRE requirement. All registrations are conducted online.

New students will complete an online application/registration form and receive login credentials within 1-2 business days. Early registration is encouraged, as courses fill quickly.
