New Cybersecurity Minor!
The Cybersecurity program will now be offered on both the current non-credit certificate basis, as well as on a credit basis as part of our undergraduate degree program in either criminal justice or business as a Cybersecurity Minor. As such, the course will now be offered as a two-part program with one course offered in the fall or spring semester and the second course the following semester. The course will still be offered online with the faculty member from Molloy University. The students will now have the option of taking the course on either a credit or non-credit basis.

WHAT IS IT AND WHO IS IT FOR?
The Cybersecurity Program at Molloy University is a fully online two semester training program, designed to successfully prepare people with little or no background in IT for entry level jobs in cybersecurity, a highly in-demand and lucrative career path. Developed around military training methodologies and hands-on learning, the program focuses on the key skills sought by employers. The Program prepares students not only with technical knowledge, but with the essential skills required for a successful career in cybersecurity. 

WHY CYBERSECURITY?
With the rate of cyber-attacks reaching record highs, there is an urgent need for workers in cybersecurity. The field has had 0% unemployment for nearly a decade, and forecasts 35% job growth throughout the next year. With plentiful opportunities and competitive compensation, an accelerated Cybersecurity Program is the best way to gain the necessary skills to fill these positions.

ADMISSION CRITERIA AND ELIGIGIBILITY INFORMATION
- High school diploma/GED (minimum
- Students do not need an IT background to enroll in this program
- You will need English reading proficiency, basic math and logic skills, and most of all, drive and motivation to learn in an accelerated environment.   

CURRICULUM AND FORMAT
The Cybersecurity 1 course uses materials from TestOut/CompTIA training in the course. The course will cover the topics in Network Pro. For a list of the topics, please click here. This course is a prerequisite to the course, Cybersecurity 2. The Cybersecurity 2 course also uses materials from TestOut/CompTIA training in the course and will cover the topics in Security Pro. The materials fee for each course is currently $129 and you will be sent directions on purchasing the materials after you register.

The courses are offered in an online asynchronous format with a faculty member from Molloy University. Molloy uses a Learning Management System or online platform called Canvas. The course will be taught using Canvas. The course is not taught in "real time", meaning that students do not have to log in during a specific time, except maybe for online chats. Therefore, you do not have to attend at a given time. You can log on at any time to take the course. However, there will be assignments that will be due at specific times.

CANVAS
Molloy University uses a Learning Management System or online platform called Canvas. The courses in the program will be taught using Canvas. The courses are not taught in "real time", meaning students do not have to log in during the time of the classroom course. Therefore, you do not have to attend at a given time. You can log on at any time to take the course. However, there will be assignments that will be due at specific times.

Please note that a course will not appear in your Canvas account until it is published by the faculty member. While some faculty may publish their courses days or even weeks prior to the start date, faculty have up until the first day of class to publish their course to Canvas.  

Once you have registered for your first course, you will be emailed information in about a week on setting up your account in Canvas. If you do not receive an email within 3 business days of registering for your first course please check your spam folder or contact Louis Cino at: lcino@molloy.edu.   You can log in at: www.molloy.edu/canvas using your permanent Username and Password. Once you log in to your Canvas account you can look up the required text(s) for the course, as well as any assignments that the instructor may have posted.

FREE CAREER SEMINAR

This career seminar is led by experienced professionals who will offer real advice about career and academic paths and talk about both the satisfactions and challenges of their own chosen careers. The seminar is one and a half hours long, given in the evening and is usually offered 3 times a year - every May and September. PAYMENT PLAN
A $500 deposit required to register, a payment plan is available for the balance. It is not necessary to register for both courses at the same time.

FEES
There will be an additional materials fee of $129 per course that will be required prior to the start of each course.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

When planning to attend a continuing education course or program, an important consideration is the cost, which may include tuition, books and travel. With Molloy College, Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, various financial assistance options are available to help students afford tuition. Since most Continuing Education courses do not lead to a college degree, they are not eligible for the traditional forms of financial aid, such as TAP and Pell. REGISTRATION
Students should register for classes at least one week prior to the start of classes to insure enough time for you to get access to the course materials, the course link and to complete the self-paced Prework module.
