NYS Education Department Clinically-Rich Intensive Teacher Institute in Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language (CR-ITI-BE)

The Division of Education, in collaboration with the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development, was the recipient of a three-year NYS Education Department Clinically-Rich Intensive Teacher Institute in Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language (CR-ITI-BE) award in the amount of $330,000.  The College was one of nine recipients state-wide and the only grantee on Long Island. Now in its fifth year, the project has been implemented in six partnering districts including Brentwood, Freeport, Patchogue-Medford, Riverhead, South Huntington and Westbury.

This successful initiative, supporting 60 teachers, is featured in a NYSED's newsletter and is due in part to Molloy's prominent track record of providing professional development for teachers on Long Island. This has led to interest from several other districts with over 700 additional teachers getting coursework toward their certification.
