Position Overview:

The Dean of the School of Education and Human Services will report directly to the Provost and serve as a key member of the university’s academic leadership team. The Dean will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the School, ensuring the quality and relevance of its programs, promoting faculty and student success in undergraduate, graduate, certificate programs across different modalities. The Dean is expected to maintain a significant on campus presence while also building strong community and professional partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a vision for the School that aligns with the university’s mission and strategic goals.
  • New Student Recruitment: Work closely with enrollment management and faculty to develop strong recruitment strategies.
  • Academic Excellence: Oversee curriculum development, accreditation processes, and program assessment to maintain the highest standards of academic quality across Education, Social Work, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
  • Faculty Development: Recruit, mentor, and support a diverse and accomplished faculty committed to teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Student Success: Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes student learning and prepares professionals to become reflective practitioners who transform their communities by serving the individuals in their care.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate partnerships with schools, social service agencies, and professional organizations to enhance experiential learning opportunities, the university’s mission, and community impact.
  • Resource Management: Manage the School’s budget, secure external funding, and advocate for resources to support its programs and initiatives. Work with school leadership to schedule and allocate resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Champion initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School and the communities it serves.

Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in Education, Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field.
  • A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient to merit appointment as a tenured full professor.
  • Significant leadership experience in higher education, including program development, accreditation, and faculty management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Experience building partnerships with external stakeholders and securing external funding.

Salary Information:

When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring annual salary range for this position is $159,000 to $189,000.  This annual salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
