I Give Back to Molloy Because...

Ellen Duffy Murphy '60 "I wanted the memory of my Aunt remembered through a scholarship. She was an educator who gave of herself to help others meet their dreams in education. It is a wonderful feeling to know that you are helping shape the future of a needy student."

- Ellen Duffy Murphy '60

Edward Donnelly ‘78 “Molloy gave me the tools, my nursing degree and education to explore and capitalize on opportunities. I have been fortunate to focus my medical training in more entrepreneurial avenues and the Campaign allows me to ‘give back.’"

- Edward Donnelly ‘78

  • Molloy College professors focus on bringing out the talents and intelligence of each student.
  • Molloy College’s personalized approach, small classes, diverse degree choices and clinical programs, scholarship and financial assistance programs, and low professor/student ratio foster enthusiasm in learning, encourage students to complete their degree, and to seek professions that enrich their own lives as well as those they serve.
  • Molloy College’s active participation in the surrounding community sets an example for their students to be strong, active citizens.
  • Molloy College has maintained its Catholic tradition and Dominican philosophy of Truth, and the uplifting of human dignity through knowledge and faith, for over 50 years.
  • Molloy College has given all of this to me.

Patricia Booth ‘82 I give to Molloy because the College is special to me for many reasons. The most important was the rapport between faculty and students. Students were willing to help other students; and the faculty was never too busy to sit and talk with you and guide you, if there was a problem with a specific course. I guess many of us wondered why there were so many courses before we concentrated on our major. Through the years, looking back now upon my 25th reunion from Molloy College, I believe I am a well rounded person as a result of my education from Molloy. I have attended two other Universities for my Master’s Degree in New York and Florida. Although Molloy College holds my heart, it was the faculty and staff, who believed in me, even though I had my doubts to attain a degree. It would be unfair of me to mention the faculty individually who helped make the dream for me a reality. In the yearbook, under my picture, I state “DREAMS CAN BECOME A REALITY”. It was Molloy College and its Philosophy and Vision that helped shape, who I am and what I do for the future.
